During the winter season, Le Grand Bornand becomes heaven on earth for lovers of winter sports from the moment the first snowflake falls. With its 89 km area equipped with 29 ski lifts, there’s a large number of pistes available for all levels of skiers, with 4 black, 16 red, 13 blue and 16 green slopes. The most famous slope, the Denivel’Maxx, offers a drop of more than 1100 m from Mont Lachat to the village. You’ll also be able to enjoy a number of even more enchanting views by visiting the other resorts in the Massif des Aravis area, such as La Clusaz, Manigod and Saint-Jean-de-Sixt. In total, this area has 138 maintained routes making up more than 210 km of pistes. To get a real adrenaline rush, head to the freestyle area at Le Grand Bornand. Located in the area of Maroly, SnowparkGB will please all riders with its big airbag, its boarder-cross and its numerous modules.
To discover the mountains at a different, slower pace, the resort also has a large Nordic area. On the outskirts of the village in the Bouchet and Chinaillon Valleys, 14 circuits of different lengths invite you to discover 80 km of pistes amid Alpine fields and spruce forests. Walking and snow-shoeing itineraries are another way for you to admire the Massif des Aravis. During your stay at Le Grand Bornand, you can also try sledging, fat-biking, ski-biking, biathlon or ice climbing with a guide. After a great day outdoors, treat yourself to a spot of relaxation at our hotel’s spa. If you’re here at the end of March, you’ll also be able to attend the largest charity event in the French mountains. For a good ten years or so, Glisse en Coeur has brought together athletes and artists to raise funds for charities. Enjoy galas, charity concerts at the feet of the slopes, 24-hour ski team relays and many more events and activities.
