Le Grand Bornand is ideally situated for a stay in Haute Savoie.

Located between Lake Annecy, Mont Blanc and Geneva, highly valued by locals and tourists, our hotel La Croix St Maurice is at the heart of Le Grand Bornand, a traditional Alpine and holiday village. Spend a weekend in “ Grand Bo” and you’ll love the impressive setting, the Aravis mountain range with its highest point 2,750m, Pointe Percée, along the valley from the village. Wandering through the village streets you will appreciate the hundred year old traditional chalets with their covered balconies and traditional wooden roof tiles. As you stroll you’ll notice the many historical reminders of our culture and inheritance. During your stay in Le Grand Bornand you should visit the church of Our Lady of the Assumption; built in the 17th century, there are several historical items of note ( bells, the font . . .) Take the path to the Chapelle de la Duche, the oldest chapel in the village, or the route to Nant Robert from whose chapel you have a magnificent view over the village and the Aravis range. While you stay with us take the guided tour of the Heritage House, by lamplight, and immerse yourself in 19th century village life. It’s a must!

Summer in Le Grand Bornand

In summer the emerald green alpine meadows, overlooked by snow-capped summits, give you the most idyllic background for an unforgettable weekend in Le Grand Bornand. The summer season brings with it a host of opportunities in Le Grand Bornand : for walkers there’s the village itself, or else step into nature on walks which will take your breath away – in both senses. For those mad about cross country cycling and adventure, the 90 kms of marked trails are your playground. For road cyclists there’s the Col de la Colombière and Col des Aravis, both classics of the Tour de France. After a tough day’s pedalling on tracks leading up to the summits of the Aravis, sweating up cols, gripping those handlebars and swooping down, relax on our terrace with a drink, or in the spa, or close by at the beauty salon Perles de Senteur.
